Mission
Glow and Grow will be a club dedicated to advancing knowledge about overall skin health and wellness, particularly focusing on dermatology-related subjects such as skin conditions and diseases. Our main activities will include in-depth reviews of literature covering skin conditions and their treatments, engaging discussions, and explorations of various skincare products in the market – from traditional approaches to prescribed and over-the-counter products.
We are committed to making a positive impact, with fundraising initiatives like bake sales and restaurant events hopefully supporting causes such as the American Eczema Association and similar organizations. We will take a comprehensive approach to skin wellness, considering factors like diet, environment, genetics, tools, habits, and procedures.
Our dedicated segments will delve into skin diseases and conditions, aiming to foster a better understanding. We also plan on running a media debunk segment, addressing common myths surrounding skincare health and wellness. Beyond knowledge-sharing, Glow and Grow is a community-oriented club, offering diverse activities like movie nights, yoga and meditation classes, monthly challenges to encourage members to adopt healthy skincare habits and cultural explorations of skincare practices from around the world. We hope to hold events such as hosting guest speakers, including dermatologists and Principal Investigators from dermatology labs, sharing valuable insights, field trips to skincare companies, joint events with other student-led clubs on campus, and other similar ventures. Glow and Grow is where information meets community, creating an environment for learning and mutual support. We commit to serving as a crossroad between education and community engagement, fostering an environment in which people feel comfortable to navigate a path towards healthier skin and overall well-being.
