About Us

The purpose of this organization is to engage with the students of this university and members of the broader community overall through the lens of progressive/radical leftist politics, learning from each other how best to create and engage in community, mitigate oppression, and counter capitalistic threats. This will be done primarily through: holding meetings to discuss the history, culture, and socio-political climate of Pittsburgh; attempting to engage in mutual aid to assist in the material conditions of disadvantaged communities in Pittsburgh; holding community engagement meetings to discuss what social/political/economic conditions are most affecting said disadvantaged communities; attending city and county level policy meetings (and reviewing policy that they’ve created) in order to develop policy proposals that favor the majority of Pittsburghers; hold actions to raise awareness about pressing issues in Pittsburgh; and standing in solidarity with other leftist (student) organizations to create friendships and community.
