Mission The American Medical Student Association (AMSA), with a half-century history of student activism, is the oldest and largest independent association of physicians-in-training in the United States. With a membership of more than 68,000 medical and premedical students, interns and residents, and practicing physicians from across the country, AMSA continues its commitment to improving medical training and the nation's health. At the University of Pittsburgh, AMSA is the largest and most involved active pre-health organization. Every medical school in the U.S. has an AMSA chapter which will allow you to continue your experience throughout your medical education. (http://www.amsa.org/member/listmed.cff)Here at the University of Pittsburgh pre-medical chapter of AMSA, we are dedicated to helping pre-medical students at Pitt succeed and reach their goal of becoming medical professionals. We aim to equip our members throughout their journey to medical school with the academic guidance, help in clinical and research opportunities, and support of a community of peers needed to be successful. We also pride ourselves on our established mentor-mentee program and weekly newsletter filled with current opportunities (research, volunteering, shadowing, etc.) Come and join us!Our General Body Meetings are held every Wednesday at 9:00 PM.
