A club for those interested in fly fishing, fishing, or freshwater conservation. New members are encouraged and no experience is necessary. Activities include fishing trips, fly tying, and conservation projects. Our club is a member of the Costa/Trout Unlimited 5Rivers program along with other university fly fishing clubs from across the country.

Kendo, or "the way of the sword," is a Japanese martial art (often likened to fencing) that aims to forge the mind and body of practitioners and facilitate the development of character through continued practice. Kendo is both mentally and physically challenging, as it combines cultural, meditative elements with competitive athletics.

The Kendo Club at Pitt promotes the practice of Kendo among the student body at the University of Pittsburgh. We welcome anyone with an interest in Kendo, including those with experience and those new to the martial art. We provide space for club members to develop their technical skills so that they may succeed in competition while always emphasizing the values of Kendo, namely respect for each another and the cultivation of one’s own spirit.

We welcome all! And YOU are welcome HERE in the University of Pittsburgh Shotokan Karate Club. Your practice sessions here are designed to polish techniques while improving coordination, stamina, and self-confidence. Your practice here also emphasizes developing awareness connecting mind, body, and environment. We excitedly have the fifth-degree blackbelt, Mike Duray, who has 50 years of experience in karate and a thorough understanding of the human body and mind.

All levels of experience and all martial arts styles are welcome and encouraged to attend. Just come to the multi-purpose room (ask the guard if needed) in Tree's hall on top of the hill, and WE ARE MOST LIKELY here! Our practice time is from 6-8 pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Come as little or as much as you want!

Our practice usually starts with a comprehensive stretching session. Every practice might be different, and every person's journey can be different! Let us know how we can BEST SUPPORT YOU!
