About Us
Our mission is to create a community of conscious eaters advocating for food justice and sovereignty. We aim to educate on the current industrialized food system, and its unequal, destructive impacts on communities, other species, the environment, and the globe. By providing hands-on learning experience with food education, we encourage more sustainable and just eating practices. The Food for Thought community will advocate for local, sustainable food practices and systems that work with human and non-human animals, nature, and the built environment. Through our interdisciplinary decolonial ecology perspective, we aim to advocate for just food systems that value life, community, and nature over profit, planting roots in this movement at Pitt.
