About Us
Girl Up is a United Nations Foundation program with over 5,000 clubs across high schools and college campuses around the world. As a global leadership development organization, we advocate for gender equality worldwide, focusing on issues such as education, gender-based violence, period poverty, reproductive rights, women in leadership, the gender gap in sports participation, and more! Our goal as a club at Pitt is to create a safe and inclusive environment to discuss and raise awareness for these issues that impact communities worldwide. We host a variety of events including panels, movie/game nights, self-defense classes, as well as regular volunteering in the local Pittsburgh community.
