About Us
We welcome all! And YOU are welcome HERE in the University of Pittsburgh Shotokan Karate Club. Our practices are designed to learn and polish various techniques while improving your coordination, stamina, self-confidence and more. We also emphasize developing awareness and connections between the mind, body, and environment. We are lucky to have the fifth-degree black belt, Mike Duray, who has over 50 years of experience in karate and a thorough understanding of the body and mind. All levels of experience and all martial arts styles are welcome and encouraged to attend. We also WELCOME you and your friends to join us for self-defense based seminar/workshops and practices throughout the year! Practice include dynamic and comprehensive stretches/warm-ups before moving on to skill-based drills, with complementary stamina training!
