About Us
Our purpose is to create a space for people to learn and improve upon their yarn work skills. We meet each week to hang out and knit/crochet, and members can also earn service hours! We welcome people of all skill levels and teach those interested how to knit and crochet. We create a community on campus for those interested in the fiber arts and host recreational events at which we make special projects. We also provide materials for those who wish to participate in our service projects. We collaborate with other student organizations to teach their members to knit or crochet, in order to make items for service or just for fun! We have completed a collaboration with March of Dimes, where we donated blankets and hats to UPMC Children's NICU; Womeanspace East Inc., a local Oakland women's shelter to which we donated blankets; and Living Ministry, where we donated hats and mittens to be distributed to the homeless. In the 2017-18 school year, we made two donations of knit and crocheted items to Jubilee Soup Kitchen and made a monetary donation to Animal Friends in the spring.
