Mission Middle Eastern and North African Student Association serves to create a community for students of MENA descent on Pitt's campus. It facilitates discussion of issues that Middle Eastern and North African students face. Additionally, it celebrates all different Middle Eastern and North African cultures in efforts to educate about our diverse people our various cultures. MENASA matters pertain to the ethnicity and culture of Middle Eastern and North African students and accepts all students regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and other inclinations.- MENASA holds general body meetings in which we celebrate our cultures and discuss issues relevant to being someone of Middle Eastern/North African ancestry and further more.- MENASA general body meetings serve as a way to learn about specific MENA countries and cultures within those countries through thematic presentations, games, and open discussions.- MENASA hosts social gatherings for members to allow Middle Eastern and North African students to experience different aspects of MENA culture and to facilitate the sense of community that it intends to create.- MENASA head fundraisers for causes and charities pertinent to the MENA region as well as people of MENA ancestry in and outside of the region.- MENASA hosts speakers from in and out of the university to educate, celebrate, and provide insight both for members as well as the general student body population at the University of Pittsburgh.- MENASA works hard to ensure that mental health resources are provided to members who seek help and promotes conversation on the importance of mental health in and out of the organization.
