About Us
Sargam is the University of Pittsburgh’s Newest Competitive A cappella group. This organization aims to bring together students who share a passion for music and want to showcase their talent to the community. The group competes in both the Western Circuit (ICCA) and the South Asian Circuit (ASA). Sargam incorporates elements of South Asian music such as Hindustani Classical, Sufi, Film, and Folk as well as Western music genres including Pop, Jazz, and R&B. This South Asian Fusion A Cappella team will help each individual grow as a musician, learn new musical styles and techniques, and gain performance exposure through regional and national competitions.
