  • Round 1 - General Application and Requirements

    1. Complete General Application

    General Application Form - application closes Sunday, October 26th

    Every applicant must meet the following requirements:

    • Be in good academic standing per the Student Code of Conduct
    • Meet the minimum GPA requirement of 2.5
    • Be a registered member of the Pitt Alumni Student Network (PASN) - can register through application
    • Upload a resume
    • Complete general application essay questions (250 words each)
      • Why do you Hail to Pitt?
      • What aspects of the Blue & Gold Society appeal to you and what do you hope to gain from membership in the organization?
      • How have your personal values, experiences, beliefs, or characteristics influenced how you lead others?

    2. Attend an Information Session

    Register for an Information Session

    Every applicant must attend at least one of the following information sessions:

    • Tuesday, September 23rd (WPU 538)
    • Wednesday, October 1st (WPU 538)
    • Thursday, October 9th (WPU 538)
    • Tuesday, October 14th (WPU 527)
    • Tuesday, October 21st (VIRTUAL, Zoom at 8pm)

    All information sessions will be held in WPU from 9:30-10:30pm, besides the virtual session.

    3. Volunteer at a PAA Homecoming Event

    Homecoming Volunteer Form

    All potential new members must sign up for one volunteer shift with the Pitt Alumni Association for Homecoming. After completing this form, you will receive an invite to a volunteer training session and be able to select a volunteer shift.

    Note: If you are unable to attend one of the predetermined onboarding sessions for Homecoming volunteering, please email blueandgoldsociety@pitt.edu.

  • Round 2 - Interviews

    Applicants selected to move forward to the interview round will be notified by Friday, November 7th.

    1. Meet the BGs

    Applicants be invited to an informal meeting of current BGS members on Friday, November 14th.

    2. Round Robin Interviews

    Round robin interviews will be conducted on Wednesday, November 19th. Applicants must attend one of these interviews.

    3. Final Deliberations

    The final deliberation process will begin after interviews have been conducted, and selected students will be notified no later than Friday, December 5th.
