About Us

The purposes of this organization shall be as follows: ● To develop unity among Black law students so that they can express their concerns surrounding problems faced on campus. ● To promote and articulate the professional, political, and social needs and goals of Black law students. ● To promote increased representation of Black students in the legal field. ● To strengthen the skills of Black law students so they can successfully complete academic requirements for this law school and the ensuing bar examination. ● To participate on law school faculty and Allegheny County Bar Association committees and influence policy decisions affecting the financial and academic futures of Black law students. ● To instill an awareness among the local Black community of the law affecting their rights as citizens. ● To do all things necessary and lawful to accomplish these purposes. To remain in good standing with the National Black Law Students Association. In the absence of a national provision, the local chapter reserves the right to interpret its local constitution. In doing so, the local chapter may use the national constitution as a guidepost.
