You Belong Here
...and we've been waiting for you
The Black Law Students Association at Pitt Law exists to encourage, empower, and support Black law students and the Pittsburgh community we are proud to serve. Everything we do flows from that purpose: building the next generation of legal leaders and making sure they have everything they need to get there.
We know that law school can feel isolating. We know the unwritten rules are not always written down. We know that some of us are the first in our families to do this, and that the path is not always clearly marked. That is exactly why BLSA exists: to be your lighthouse in the storm.
From your very first week of orientation to the moment you cross that stage, BLSA walks with you. We pair you with practicing attorneys who invest in your career. We prepare you for the professional world in ways a classroom cannot. We celebrate you, advocate for you, and remind you when the pressure is highest of exactly why you came here.
