CGSSG Undergraduate Conference Fund

The CGSSG Undergraduate Conference Fund provides up to $350 in financial support for College of General Studies (CGS) undergraduate students who are attending or presenting at academic conferences.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled either in a College of General Studies major, with CGS designated as their primary plan, or as a CGS non-degree, standalone certificate student.
  • Presenting at an academic conference or attending as a class/graduation requirement.
  • Haven’t received a CGSSG conference grant during the current academic year.

How to Apply

There are two forms required to apply for the CGSSG Undergraduate Conference Fund:

  1. CGSSG Undergraduate Conference Fund Application – submit at least 3 weeks before your conference.
  2. SORC Reimbursement Form – submit within 10 days after your conference ends.

Approval must be received prior to attending the conference. Funds will be reimbursed after the event once all forms and receipts are submitted.

Eligible Expenses

  • Conference registration fees
  • Lodging
  • Transportation
  • One meal per full day of the conference

Funds cannot be used for travel upgrades (e.g., first-class airfare). Priority will be given to students without alternative funding sources, though all eligible applicants will be considered.

Note: You must provide receipts to receive reimbursement. Keep copies of all receipts for your records.
