Workdays
Every Saturday, our members participate in workdays with organizations such as Open Hands Ministries and Armstrong Habitat for Humanity to renovate houses in the Pittsburgh area.
Workday activities can include demo work, painting, installing drywall, framing, insulating, etc. Workdays are an amazing way to develop new, useful skills that you can carry with you for life. No construction/tool experience is required. Transportation and lunch will always be provided.
Fundraising
In addition to workdays, we also hold weekly fundraising events we call "cannings". We travel to events on and off Pitt campus and ask for donations. Cannings are an excellent way to help contribute to the club if you want to help raise money for H4H and/or cannot attend workdays.
Spring Service Trip
Every year, members of our club are given the opportunity to travel to Wilmington, NC over spring break to participate in Habitat for Humanity's Collegiate Challenge with Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity.
During this time, members will work together to build a completely new house from the ground up. It provides a very unique experience in which members gain construction and leadership experience, all while bonding with other members and making life-long memories.
