  • SHRS Student Advisory Group Panel

The SHRS Interprofessional Studies Student Group and Student Advisory Board held a collaborative panel on April 10 that highlighted various professional health care programs and their students.

Megan Biddle, Interprofessional Studies Student Group vice president, reflects on the importance of the event:

“With so many programs available at SHRS, it can be difficult to determine which path to take. The goal of this event was to provide as much insight as possible to ease this process for those considering professional programs. The panelists discussed program requirements, tips for the application process and personal experiences that shaped their careers. A key theme that emerged was how often the health care roles intersect—whether it is a dietitian collaborating with a speech-language pathologist on feeding interventions, or a physical therapist working alongside an athletic trainer in recovery plans. The panelists truly made this event special through their authenticity, willingness to share challenges they faced and commitment to supporting future professionals. Their expertise and passion fostered an inspiring environment, which made this event such a captivating learning experience for everyone who attended.”

Biddle worked closely with fellow SHRS student and Student Advisory Board member Madeline Albaneze to organize the event. Trisha Cousins, assistant professor and Interprofessional Studies Student Group advisor said, “This is just one of many interprofessional student events we plan to host for current and future SHRS students.”
