About Us
Ya’baso dances to contemporary African music, as well as African-inspired music, and strives to expose the university, as well as Pittsburgh, to African culture through rhythm and dance. Team members represent Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, Sierra Leone, Benin, Cameroon, Haiti, Jamaica, and the United States of America. Although we represent numerous African countries, we openly welcome new members from any part of the world. Diversity and representation are large aspects of our organization and we hope to continue to expand in this way.
